🏊 Swimming and Personal Development at St John Fisher CVA

We believe that swimming is an essential life skill that contributes significantly to the personal development and well-being of every child. It’s more than just a sport; it fosters confidence, discipline, and resilience. That’s why we place such a high value on our swimming program, ensuring that all pupils have regular, high-quality instruction throughout their time with us.

Our Swimming Provision

Our programme is structured to provide consistent development across key stages:

  • Year 3 pupils dedicate a concentrated block of time to swimming as a class at the end of the academic year.
  • Year 4 and 5 pupils attend sessions together every half term, allowing for ongoing practice and skill refinement.
  • Year 6 Booster Classes are a vital part of our commitment. For any pupil who hasn’t yet met the national standard, we provide focused small-group instruction to ensure they leave primary school as competent swimmers.

We are fortunate to partner with the first-class facilities at Parklands Oadby leisure centre. By working closely with their instructors and management, we ensure our swimming provision is delivered to the highest standard.
